What to visit

Lovers of culture and history can visit the military fortress of the first world war: Forte Montecchio Nord or the Fort of Fuentes: ruins of a military Spanish fort from 1600. Another attraction is the famous monastery: Abbazia di Piona. All these attractions are within a radius of 3 km from the campsite. Castello di Vezio, an old castle nearby the tourist village of Varenna is also worth a visit, as well as the Parco Minerario of Piani dei Resinelli, a mineral mine back from 1600. At Fiumelatte you can visit the river the Fiumelatte. The river owes its name to the place and because of its white water. (latte in Italian means ‘milk’). The museum Moto Guzzi is also worth a visit. The town Bellano is know for its deep cliff that you can visit: the Orrido di Bellano.



Colico is strategically located for travelers who wish to visit other important places such as:
- St. Moritz: a famous ski resort known around the world for its style and elegance.
- Milan: one of the main cities in Italy and after Paris, the fashion capital of Europe. Milan offers various cultural and artistic attractions.
- Como: known for its historical monuments, its elegant boutiques and especially known for its beautiful villas on the lakeside.
- Bellagio: known as the ‘pearl of the Lake Como’. Many tourist from all over the world come to this place for its beauty and particularity.
- Valtellina: locates in the heart of the Alps, known for its gastronomy and ski resorts such as Livigno, Bormio, Chiesa in Valmalenco and Aprica.
Livigno is a must visit because you can shop tax free here. Valtellina also offers two main thermal baths: Bormio and Masino.
